This October, Chelmsford stands united with the nation to celebrtate Black History Month 2025 under the theme "Standing Firm in Power and Pride".

We honour the strength, resilience and creativity of Black communities in Chelmsford and across Essex for those who lead with power, inspire with pride and shape our shared future.

Join New Generation Development Agency as we celebrate Black excellence, recognise local voices and continue to build a city where every story is valued, every achievement is honoured and every generation is empowered.

Race Equality Debate

Come down and share your opinions in a Race Equality Debate! This event is a question time-style debate where participants will have the chance to discuss and question important issues around race, equality and inclusion in today's society!

The aim is to create a safe, respectful and open space for everyone to share their views, learn from other people's experiences and think about how we can work together to build a fairer community.

This debate will also include a panel of speakers who range from students, community leaders and diversity advocates who will be answering questions from the audience.
